The going was glorious as sunshine poured down on the fourth Irish Saturday Charity Race Day.
After the pelting rain of last year’s event, the warm weather was a welcome change for the thousands of people who descended on Fontwell Park Racecourse.
Good causes were the big winners on the day with the event romping home to scoop £80,000 for seven charities.
As well as an exciting day’s racing, the race day included live music from top Irish band The Saw Doctors, fundraising auctions and a raffle.
The beneficiaries were AAIR/AWAAIREBEAR asthma charity, Macmillan Cancer Care, Help for Heroes, St Barnabas House Hospice and the Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulances.
In its fours years of running, the race day has raised £390,000 for charity.

A massive thank you to our 200 runners who took part in the first ever Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon in London in support of Asthma UK on Sunday 12 October 2008 and helped to raise over £80,000.
